Chained Cabin Quilt

Example of Custom and Heirloom Quilting
Custom quilting generally involves separate motifs in blocks, separate border and sashing treatments, and some outlining of blocks to prevent unquilted channels and puffiness. Heirloom quilting is more elaborate than Custom, and often involves a lot of stitch in the ditch or crosshatching.

Thread Tip:
I will often use monofilament thread for the stitch in the ditch
needed to stabilize motifs for custom and heirloom quilting. As long
as you don't iron the quilt with a hot iron or dry it in high heat,
the nylon thread will be fine.
